Terms of Service

Who you are agreeing with

BILKEYS is a product of i-educate LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("we", "us"), and is provided at bilkeys.com. These terms take effect on 1 October 2026, are a binding agreement between you and i-educate LLC, and include our Privacy Policy. By creating an account or using BILKEYS you accept them. Please read "Disputes and arbitration" carefully: it requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration and waives class actions and jury trials, subject to your right to opt out. Using the app

BILKEYS is a personal study companion: books and chapter detection, study sets (flashcards, Chapter Brief, worked examples, tables and diagrams), Scenario Lab, Diagram Lab, Check My Work, Exam Countdown, Daily Review, study games, performance stats, XP, streaks, achievements, the leaderboard and Study Groups. You need an account, and it is for your own use only: keep your login details secure, tell us at legal@i-educate.com if you think someone else has used it, and do not share, sell or transfer the account.

Age

You must be at least 13 to hold an account. In European Union and EEA countries, the minimum age is 16, in line with GDPR’s digital-consent rules. We ask for your date of birth and country when you sign up and may block or suspend accounts where the applicable minimum age cannot be established. If you are between the applicable minimum age and 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy on your behalf.

Free account

• For your first 14 days you can create study sets, upload a book, and use the AI features.
• The free account includes 2 AI credits to try, 1 book, 1 study set, up to 20 cards per set, 1 study game, Chapter Brief, the leaderboard, unlimited Daily Review, and 3 Check My Work checks (extendable with extra credits). Study Groups and Exam Countdown are paid features.
• After 14 days, creating new sets, uploading new books and using the AI features are locked, but everything you already made stays yours to study, free of charge, for as long as your account remains active (see Inactive accounts below).
• To keep storage tidy, uploaded book files on free accounts that have been inactive for 60 days or more may be removed. Your study sets, cards and progress are not deleted.

Inactive accounts

• If a free account is completely inactive for 24 months (no sign-in and no study activity at all), the study content on it (books, study sets, cards, progress and exam plans) is deleted.
• We email you a warning 30 days and again 7 days before that happens, and you also get a notice in the app. Signing in and studying anything once resets the clock and keeps everything.
• Accounts with an active paid plan are never cleared for inactivity.
• Your account itself stays open after a clear-out, so you can start fresh at any time. Deleted study content cannot be restored.

Paid plans

• Quick is $4.99 a month or $49.90 a year, Standard is $9.99 a month or $99.90 a year, and Premium is $14.99 a month or $149.90 a year, plus any sales tax or VAT due where you live.
• Paid plans keep creation and the AI features always on, and include 5, 7 or 12 AI credits a month depending on the plan.
• Book and study set allowances are counted per billing period: what you add during a period counts towards that period’s allowance, and the allowance resets at each renewal. Anything you already created stays in your library and remains yours to study. Resetting the allowance never deletes it.
• Each plan sets how many books you can add, how many cards a set can hold, how many study games you get, and access to Study Groups and Exam Countdown. On Free and Quick, study sets do not include diagrams, but Diagram Lab can be used by spending a purchased extra credit. On Standard and Premium, study sets have illustration diagrams. All plans are additionally capped at a fixed number of books and study sets per cycle regardless of credits, as shown on the Plans page. PDF uploads are limited to 50 MB per file on every plan. The comparison list on the Plans page describes typical usage; where a plan enforces a hard cap, that is stated explicitly.

Credits

• Check My Work is free up to your plan’s included checks each billing cycle (Free: 3 total, Quick: 15, Standard: 25, Premium: 40). Once you use them all, you can spend 1 extra credit to unlock one more block equal to your plan’s own allowance, as many times as you have extra credits for. Generating a study set from a chapter uses a plan credit; Scenario Lab and Diagram Lab always use a purchased extra credit. The credit cost is shown before you confirm an action.
• Your plan credits are added at the start of each billing period and are used before any purchased credits. Extra credit packs, Boost (3 credits, $5.99) and Power (7 credits, $9.99), can be bought at any time and stay usable while your account is open, even if your plan lapses.
• Unspent plan credits do not roll over: at each renewal the balance resets to your plan’s allowance, and nothing carries past the end of a plan period. If your plan ends, its remaining plan credits stop with it, but purchased credits stay. This renewal cycle applies to paid plans. The Free plan’s 2 starter credits are a one-time grant for the life of your account and do not repeat or reset, once used (or after 14 days, if unused), creating new content requires a paid plan.
• Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
• For each book you upload and each study set you generate we record which plan period it was created in and whether a plan credit or a purchased credit paid for it. This is shown to you in the app so your usage and billing can always be reconciled.
• Credits are a digital item consumed as you use the app, so purchased credits are not refundable once spent. If an action fails for a technical reason, message us through Help & Support and we will restore the credit.

Billing, renewal and cancellation

• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period, and you authorise us to charge your payment method for each renewal until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time from Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep your plan and its credits until then, and you are not charged again.
• Moving to a higher plan takes effect immediately. We charge the prorated difference for the rest of your current billing period right away. Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep your current plan and its credits until then.
• Except where the law says otherwise, fees already paid are not refunded. Except where the law requires otherwise, extra credits are not refundable, whether used or unused.
• Prices may change; we give you at least 14 days’ notice by email or in the app before a change applies at your next renewal.
• When a paid plan ends your account moves to the free tier rather than being deleted. Your content stays viewable within free limits, and purchased credits remain usable.

Your content

• You keep ownership of the books, notes and photos you upload. You give us permission to host, process and display that material so we can build and show your study content, including sending it to the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from short-term backups and anything the law requires us to keep.
• Upload only material you have the right to use: your own notes and work, textbooks you own, material your school licenses to you, or openly licensed works. You must not use BILKEYS to copy or redistribute copyrighted books.
• Do not upload sensitive information: identity documents, health or medical records, or financial account details. The app does not need them.
• When you photograph work for Check My Work, capture only your own work: not other people, other students’ work, or information you are not entitled to share.

AI-generated study material

Cards, chapter briefs, scenarios, mock exams, revision schedules and Check My Work feedback are generated automatically and may be incomplete or wrong. They are a study aid, not a source of truth, not a mark or grade, and not academic, professional or exam advice, and we do not guarantee any grade, test score or exam result. Always check anything important against your own source material, and confirm real exam dates with your institution. You are responsible for following your school, college or exam board’s rules on AI assistance: where such help is restricted, do not use these features for that work. Report harmful or incorrect output through Feedback or to support@i-educate.com.

Groups and leaderboards

• Study Groups are invite-only: you can join a group only when a member invites you. Creating and running a Study Group needs an active paid plan. If you join or create a group, your display name, shared sets and study progress in that group are visible to its other members.
• Sharing a set with a group lets those members study it inside BILKEYS while they are members and you keep sharing it. They must not download, copy, resell or publish it, or use it outside the app.
• Taking part in the leaderboard shows your display name and score to other learners. You can use a pseudonym for the leaderboard.
• Study Groups include a chat that only members of that group can see. We do not monitor or read group chats. You can block other members and delete your own messages, and the group's creator can remove members. Do not harass, bully or abuse other members, or share unlawful, hateful or explicit material. If something goes wrong, report it through Help & Support and include the messages concerned; we may then remove members or close a group that breaks these terms. We will only access chat messages where the law requires us to.

XP, streaks and achievements

XP, levels, streaks, badges and leaderboard standings are app features only. They have no monetary value and are not property. We may, at our discretion, automatically grant a small number of plan credits as a reward for milestones such as a continuous study streak or a high score on an in-app mock exam but these rewards may change, be capped, or be discontinued at any time and do not create any right to future rewards. Aside from these stated reward grants, XP, levels, streaks, badges and leaderboard standings cannot be bought, sold, or transferred, and you may not manipulate them using automation, exploits, multiple accounts or collusion. We may reset standings and suspend accounts where we believe that has happened.

Availability and fair use

We aim to keep the app running smoothly but cannot promise it will never be unavailable. Do not attempt to disrupt or probe the service, upload malicious code, scrape it by automated means, bypass credit metering or plan limits (including by making extra accounts for free credits), access other people’s data, impersonate anyone, cheat in assessments, resell the service, or use it or its output to build or train a competing product or AI model. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Copyright complaints

i-educate LLC has a Designated Agent registered with the U.S. Copyright Office (DMCA Directory registration number DMCA-1080463). If you believe material on BILKEYS infringes your copyright, email legal@i-educate.com with your signature, the work concerned, where the material is, your contact details, a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act. We respond in line with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, may remove material we believe infringes, and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Feedback and our brand

Ideas and suggestions you send us may be used freely without obligation to you, so do not send anything you consider confidential. The app itself, its software, design, game mechanics, and the BILKEYS name and logo (a trademark of i-educate LLC, U.S. application Serial No. 50107168), belongs to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-commercial license to use the app, and no right to use our name or logo without written permission.

Third-party services

BILKEYS relies on other providers: Stripe for payments, cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, and the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Their own terms govern their services and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

Suspension and closing your account

You can stop using BILKEYS and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, created legal risk or acted fraudulently, or if we discontinue the app. Where practical we give notice and a chance to export your content. Terms on content licenses, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, disputes and governing law continue to apply after your account ends.

No warranties and limits on liability

BILKEYS, including all AI-generated content, is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, and we do not promise uninterrupted, secure or error-free operation or accurate AI output. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, academic outcomes or exam results, and our total liability for all claims will not exceed the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. You agree to cover our reasonable costs arising from your content, your breach of these terms or of the law or your institution’s academic-integrity rules, or your infringement of someone else’s rights.

Disputes and arbitration

Disputes relating to BILKEYS or these terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court or ask a court for relief over intellectual property. Claims may be brought only individually, not as part of a class or representative action, and both of us waive the right to a jury trial where the law allows. You can opt out by emailing legal@i-educate.com within 30 days of first accepting these terms, giving your name, account email and that you opt out. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Where arbitration does not apply, including if you opt out, disputes go to the state or federal courts in New Castle County, Delaware.

Export controls

You may not use or export BILKEYS in breach of U.S. export-control or sanctions laws, and you confirm you are not in an embargoed country or on a U.S. restricted-parties list.

Changes to the service and these terms

Features, plans and these terms may change as the app develops. For material changes we give advance notice by email and/or in the app. Continuing to use BILKEYS after the change takes effect means you accept the current version; if you do not agree, close your account before then. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us: if part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies, and we may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of the business.
